Bear Necessities - Gold Medals at SU!

Students in the High School Broadcast Media Program traveled to Syracuse University on October 14th to attend the 86th annual  Empire State School Press Association (ESSPA) Conference.  Attendees chose from a range of workshops, including graphic design, sports photography, and film production, to name a few.  The sessions, conducted by students and faculty at the Newhouse School, provided students with an overview of the programs and excellent training in broadcasting.  The day was capped off with the presentation of awards, where the Bear Necessities won Gold Medals for Excellence in Student Broadcast Production and Best Sports Feature for the Chris Dines - Heart of a Giant video production.  Special congratulations go out to recent graduates McKenzie LaCotta and Kamron Reynolds for their work on the Heart of a Giant submission.  This year's Bear Necessities staff has big shoes to fill and left SU with some great ideas and lots of enthusiasm!
