On behalf of the Chittenango CSD Board of Education, administration, faculty and staff, it is my honor to welcome you to the 2017 – 2018 school year! When given the opportunity, please introduce yourself to our Board of Education members, Mr. Geoff Zimmer (BOE President), Mr. Russell Wehner (BOE Vice-President), Dr. Siubhan Bongiovanni (Trustee), Mr. Daniel Gibbons (Trustee), Mr. Jamie Boswell (Trustee), Mr. Lou Cianfrocco (Trustee), Mr. Daniel Mayer (Trustee), Mr. Ed Gratien (Trustee) and Mr. Phil Austin (Trustee). In the Chittenango Schools Community, we are extremely fortunate to have a committed Board of Education who; consistently acts in the best interest of our children, demonstrates professionalism and servant leadership, and unyieldingly supports our schools and community. Our Board of Education is highly functional, deeply dedicated and selflessly engaged.
I am thrilled at the opportunity to continue my service to the children, families and community members of Bear Country. It is with tremendous pride and humility that I serve the Board of Education and the Chittenango School Family in the capacity of School Superintendent. We are excited to welcome new members of our administrative team, both those returning in new roles or recently appointed Bears. Mr. Jason Clark (formerly the Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services) has joined the district office leadership team as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instructional Services. Likewise, Mrs. Mary Farber (formerly the Principal of Bridgeport Elementary School) has also moved into a district-wide role filling the position of Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services. Ms. Jamie Durgey (formerly an elementary teacher leader in the Liverpool Central School District) is the new Principal of Bridgeport Elementary and Ms. Renee Burgess (formerly an elementary principal in the Syracuse City School District) is the returning Principal of Bolivar Road Elementary (having finished the 2016-2017 school year as a Bear). Our entire administrative team, faculty and staff are committed to excellence and a common vision of doing what is best for our students.
In closing, I look forward with great anticipation to the successes and achievements of the 2017 – 2018 school year and am eager to genuinely invest in the greatness of our future. Beginning with the opening day of classes, Wednesday – September 6, I speak with confidence that the school year ahead will be one of progress, productivity and purpose. If I may be of any service or support for your child(ren), family or community organization please do not hesitate to ask. We are BEARS, together we are BEAR COUNTRY and with pride we affirm that WE ARE CHITTENANGO!
