Dear Bridgeport Families,
I would like to officially begin our 2018/2019 school year, and welcome you once again to an exciting school year. I hope you all have enjoyed the summer and got some much deserved rest and relaxation! The opportunity to refuel over the summer is a necessary component of the important work that we do. I know we are about to begin a great school year filled with hope, vision, and excitement.
Personally, I am grateful and elated to continue this journey with you as your Principal. Over the past year, I have had a chance to meet many of you and your families, and look forward to continue building a strong relationship with all of you in the upcoming year. As we enter this new school year, I want to let you know that our staff will be engaging in conversations around having a growth mindset, how we can address chronic absenteeism, and of course school safety. Academics are always a high priority, but we also want our students to have strong character and work ethic.
Many of the teachers were busy this summer working on data analysis and curriculum projects. Many teachers and staff took advantage of summer workshops and conference offerings as well. I sincerely appreciate all of their efforts to improve experiences for our students.
The building looks fantastic. Our custodial team worked tirelessly to make everything sparkle. Teachers have started getting out their materials and the building is almost ready to go!
Student’s first day will be Wednesday, September 5th. If you have any questions prior to the start of the 2018/2019 school year, please don’t hesitate to call the office at 315-687-2280.
I look forward to a successful school year and to working closely with all of you. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Jamie Durgey, Principal
