Showing Kindness to Animals In Need

To demonstrate their understanding of our new character education word of “Kindness,” many students at Bridgeport Elementary School chose to donate gifts of food and other needed pet supplies to Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association for the holidays. Instead of exchanging gifts with their classmates, students brought in needed items to help give their furry friends a happy holiday at the shelter! They also were treated to a special visit from Ms. Dee Schaefer, a representative from the shelter, who brought in several furry and already adopted dogs that she rescued from the shelter. Ms. Schaefer shared her knowledge of pet care and kindness with our students and was very grateful to our children for their kindness and generosity to animals in need in our community.
