Bridgeport Elementary is proud to announce that we have received the 2015 New York State School of Character and the 2015 National School of Character.  These awards serve as a testament to the commitment of faculty, parents, students, and community members to the success of all students at Bridgeport Elementary School.

In our school of character, adults embrace their critical role as models. Teachers work together as professionals—and with parents and community members as partners—to positively shape the social, emotional, and character development of our students.

Bridgeport Elementary School is located at 9076 North Road in Bridgeport, New York near the south shores of Oneida Lake.  Our school community welcomes students in grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade.  Our faculty works daily to deliver 21st Century skills that are essential for students to learn in order to be successful students and citizens.  We also pride ourself in teaching our students to be caring individuals and supportive of one another.

Our Elementary program is committed to teaching students based on students’ individual needs and interests.  Our average class size is 22 students.  Classrooms are inclusive and differentiated instruction is promoted in order to teach all students at all instructional levels.  Students are instructed in language arts, mathematics, science, technology, and social studies through interdisciplinary units and project based learning.  We offer intervention programs in mathematics, reading, and writing in addition to a wide range of special education services.  We also enhance our students’ learning experience with a strong art, music, and physical education curriculum.  We have a Library-Media Center that houses a computer lab with 25 iMac computers, an eno board, and thousands of books along with periodicals and resource materials.  In addition to our computer lab, each classroom is outfitted with 4-6 iPads and an interactive eno board.

Bridgeport Elementary School’s staff and parents pride themselves in our caring school community philosophy in which each person takes time to help our students to grow academically, socially, and physically strong.
