Lake Street Elementary School is “Where the Future Begins". These words reflect our dedication to making LSE a school that provides the foundation children need to be successful students and citizens. LSE is located in the village of Chittenango. Our school shares a campus with Chittenango High School. The staff focuses on creating a safe and nurturing educational environment for our K-2 students. Our students transition to Bolivar Road Elementary School as third graders. There are currently 299 students enrolled at LSE. Our kindergarten, first grade and second grade classes are made up of five sections each. At LSE we are proud to be a community of learners. Children, family members, staff and community members of Chittenango each play a critical role in the continuous growth and development of our school. Adult and high school volunteers frequently support instruction and assist with activities. Our PTA is an active organization at LSE. They sponsor a variety of performances and family events throughout the school year. Special area teachers work closely with classroom teachers to ensure that academic, social, emotional and physical needs of the children are met. Our library houses over 10,000 print and electronic resources that enrich learning and provide tools to develop children as readers, thinkers and writers. A full time nurse looks after the medical needs of the children. Whether you are a family member or a community member, we welcome your participation in our school.
